The HY300 projects roughly a 30" to 130" image depending on how far it sits from the wall. Around 8 to 10 feet of distance gives you a big, sharp 100"+ picture in a normal living room.
It looks best with the lights low or the curtains closed, like any projector. In a dimmed room the image is bright and punchy; in full daylight it will look washed out, so evening movie nights and blackout curtains are your friend.
It is not a native 4K projector. Native resolution is 1280 × 720 (720p), with 4K hard decoding (including the AV1 codec) — so 4K files and streams play smoothly and are scaled to fit the 720p panel. You get clean, detailed playback of 4K content, not a native 4K image.
Yes, with the right setup. It connects over dual-band Wi-Fi 6, and you can mirror or plug in a phone, laptop, streaming stick, console, or USB drive. Built-in app availability and playback quality vary by service and region, and some services limit playback on projectors, so we recommend a streaming stick in the HDMI port — that is the most reliable way to watch any service on it.
Plug it in, point it at the wall, and let auto keystone correction square up the image. The 180° projection angle means you can aim at a wall or the ceiling without stacking books under it. Most people are watching in about two minutes.
No. A plain, light-coloured wall works well. A white screen or matte projector paint sharpens contrast slightly, but it is optional, not required.
There are built-in speakers that are fine for casual viewing, plus Bluetooth 5.0 for pairing a speaker, soundbar, or headphones when you want more depth.
